Health board seat sole contested race in Pelham election Tuesday

PELHAM — A three-year seat on the Board of Health is the only contested race on the ballot in the town election being held Tuesday.

Polls will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ramsdell Room at the Pelham Library, 2 South Valley Road.

William E. Pula of Arnold Road, running for reelection, facing a challenge from Jessica Brooke Steier of Harkness Road. It’s the first contested election in Pelham since 2016.

The ballot features mostly incumbents, with several positions to be decided by write-in votes.

Incumbents seeking reelection include Robert V. Agoglia of Metting House Road for a three-year seat on the Select Board; Peter C. Wilson of Buffam Road for a five-year seat on the Planning Board; and Charles H. Thompson for a three-year seat on the library trustees. William Sherr of Harkness Road, appointed to the School Committee last year, is running for a full three-year term.

Other positions on the ballot include additional School Committee seats, two three-year terms and one one-year term; two additional library trustees posts, a three-year term and a two-year term; two positions on Cemetery Commission, a three-year term and a two-year term; a three-year term on Board of Assessors; a one-year term as auditor; and a one-year term as moderator.
