Work on the railroad tracks on Damon Road has closed a section of the road near the intersection at King Street in Northampton. The work began Thursday morning and is scheduled last into next week. The road closure was expected to cause traffic backups but by all accounts by police at the scene, traffic flowed freely down King Street and through at detour at the Industrial Park in the earlier part of the day. Motor vehicle traffic was a bit more congested in the late afternoon on King Street near the work site.
