High schools: Braylon Jarrett paces Hampshire Regional in boys basketball win over Hopkins Academy

Braylon Jarrett’s 18 points helped the Hampshire Regional boys basketball team take down Hopkins Academy, 48-29, on Thursday at Zalot Gymnasium in Westhampton.
Jarrett drained three 3-pointers for the Raiders, which improved to 2-1. Vynce Carr also contributed 10 points, Joseph Moro had six points and Isaiah Isa and Jack Wresien each pocketed five points.
The Raiders were tied or had the lead after every quarter and held a 23-14 advantage at halftime.
Chace Earle paced Hopkins Academy with nine points.
Granby 65, Southwick 29 – A 20-4 edge in the second quarter was more than enough to send Granby to a dominant road victory on Thursday.
Granby led 18-8 after one quarter and 38-12 at halftime. NeNe Fernandez led the way with 19 points for the Rams, and Raymond Colon tallied 10 points in the win.
Lee 40, Smith Academy 34 – Cam Graves tossed in a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds but the Falcons dug themselves a double-digit halftime deficit and couldn't rally in a Hampshire League North contest on Thursday night.
Lee led 24-10 at halftime, though Smith Academy outscored the Wildcats 24-16 in the second half. Garrett Willard and Jake Wilcox added seven points each for the Falcons.

Granby 54, Athol 15 – The Rams picked up their first victory of the season Thursday night with a big win over the Bears.
Granby outscored Athol, 29-2, in quarters two and three, following a close first quarter that saw the Rams ahead, 19-11. Granby closed out the game with a 6-2 edge in points in the fourth.
Autumn Sicard secured 17 points as the Rams’ top point-getter, followed closely behind by Brenna Moreno, who had 16 points.
Maddie Desrosiers was Athol’s leading scorer, finishing the night with five points.
Frontier 40, West Springfield 16 – Another fast start propelled the Redhawks to another lopsided victory on Thursday.
Frontier opened the game on a 12-0 run and didn’t allow a point for the first 6 minutes, 50 seconds of action. The Hawks led 15-2 after one quarter and 29-4 at halftime en route to an independent win in West Springfield.
Girls swimming
Longmeadow 117, Northampton 46 — Caeil Killip-Leonard won the diving event to power Northampton on Wednesday.
Killip-Leonard amassed a score of 218.85 points, with teammate Elise Marks in second place (159.75). Inez Dole was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.32) and 100 backstroke (1:09.68).
Boys swimming
Longmeadow 95, Northampton 15 — Cole Mattison-Gulotta notched a pair of second-place finishes for the Blue Devils in a loss on Wednesday.
Mattison-Gulotta was second in the 100 freestyle (58.01) and 200 freestyle (2:08.51).
