FLORENCE — Jim’s Variety Store in Florence was robbed Wednesday night, the second time the convenience store’s cash register has been plundered since January.

Northampton Police Department Capt. John Cartledge said in a news release that a male suspect toting a gun entered the store just at 8:41 p.m. Wednesday demanding cash. He said the man flashed a gun to the clerk.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 413-587-1100.

Robbers also targeted the store, on 15 West Farms Road, on Jan. 15. Then, police said, a man brought a soda to the cash register and when the clerk opened the register, the individual grabbed $500 and ran off.

Police arrested Tony J. Morton, 29, 0f Easthampton, saying he was the unarmed robber, and also Bradley J. Finn, 30, of Florence, who allegedly was the getaway driver.

Both were charged with unarmed robbery.
