Linda Young: Short-term rentals at what cost?

South Hadley residents, what do you want your town to look like come this summer? On Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. the Planning Board is hosting a Zoom meeting to hear your thoughts on short-term rentals, possibly by right. What does this mean? The home next to you can rent out all or a portion of their home to anyone for an undetermined length of time. It could be for a weekend for a girls’ gathering, a high school reunion, or for a longer length of time. As neighbors you will have no say over the noise, parking, strewn trash, etc. Now I know this sounds negative and some of your neighbors, perhaps even you yourself, could use the extra income, but at what cost? Yes, there will be some non-obtrusive rentals, but what about the others? Your voices need to be heard. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/i/81859898540?pwd=VOdnbmZzQ2dxZ.FNEVlpsZESnanFDdz09
