I enjoyed reading the guest column by Marietta Pritchard about landlines [”Landlines and more in our parallel universe,” Gazette, April 29].

I totally agree with her. I thought my service was reliable until I loss my power a few years back. I have one nice slimline green phone taht says Freedom phone (can you believe Freedom?). On that day, that landline phone was the only way I could make a call.

I do have a cellphone that I mostly use if I’m traveling and not at home. So yes, I will never give up my landline. We are similar. Is it the age? I also listen to music on CDs and vinyl.
