Regarding Olin Rose-Bardawil’s column “Americans want more than two choices” [Gazette, June 14], I disagree. We have a huge choice. Republican politicians don’t believe in governing. They only seek power to do one thing: cut taxes. They are ideologically and actively opposed to acting to improve Americans’ lives. Hmm, if only there were an alternative, a party that recognizes the duty of our elected representatives to use the levers of power to move us forward. Oh wait … there is one: Democrats!

We don’t need a third, fourth or fifth party. Simply contrast proud Republican do-nothingism with Joe Biden’s record of accomplishment the past three years, making vast improvements in citizens’ lives through skilled governance, and it’s clear we needn’t re-engineer American government to create choice. We simply need to choose to go to the polls and vote for Democratic presidential and down-ballot candidates so they can continue to improve our lives. And, perhaps, save American democracy.
