There are migrant families sleeping on mats in the international terminal at Logan Airport, and as reported in the Boston Globe, Gov. Maura Healey said that a man accused of a recent migrant crime entered the U.S. through a federal program. We are a compassionate and generous country that is why 2.6 million people arrived legally in the U.S. in 2022 as noted in usafacts.org. Yet those elected to represent us in Boston and Washington D.C. don’t respect the will of the people.

Our representatives follow an open border policy allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country, and that doesn’t count the number of them flown in by our government. This is a burden on every resource and is an affront to every citizen. We need someone in Washington who shares our values and will fight for us and not attempt to divide us. One such candidate, John Deaton, a U.S. Marine veteran, cancer survivor, lawyer, and father, is running against Elizabeth Warren. He lived in Roxbury while he attended New England School of Law in Boston and has practiced law in Massachusetts for over 20 years. He has written and narrated his memoir “Food Stamp Warrior.” Read his book, visit his website: johndeatonforsenate.com and donate generously. He has the grit and tenacity to be the warrior we need in Washington D.C.
