Three Rivers man, 70, killed in Saturday crash in Hadley

HADLEY — A 70-year-old man from the Three Rivers section of Palmer died following a collision between his motorcycle and a truck on East Street Saturday around noon, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office.

James Lis was transported by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he died.

Lis, who was riding his motorcycle north, and the truck traveling south collided when the truck was turning left into a driveway.

The road was closed between Route 9 and Maple Avenue for several hours as the crash was investigated.

The crash remains under investigation by Hadley Police, State Police detectives attached to the Northwestern district attorney’s office, State Police troopers with the Crime Scene Services Section and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
