The fifth meet of the PVIAC indoor track season took place at Smith College on Sunday. All of Hampshire County’s indoor track teams except for South Hadley, which had its bye week, were in action during either the early or late meets.

Frontier, Hampshire and Northampton participated in the early meet while Amherst was the lone squad to compete in the late one as the sun set on a chilly Sunday in western Massachusetts.

Here’s how each team fared in its individual matchups:

Girls results

The Redhawks picked up two wins in their two duals on Sunday. Hannah Davis earned fifth place in the 55-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 9.93 seconds to start her busy day, as the junior also competed in both the long and high jumps later on.

In the field events, eighth grader Maia Christensen (4 feet, 6 inches) came in fifth place in the high jump, and Lilly Novak had an impressive day in the shot put, throwing a 29-2.75 to grab third place.

The Frontier 4x200 relay team finished fourth (2:00.84).

Ava Gaida (10.23) took home eighth in the 55m hurdles, while Audrey Perrone (sixth, 1:52.88) and Gabriella Dybacki (seventh, 1:53.04) finished back-to-back in the 600m. Sophia Lashway (10th, 6:27.43) also ran the mile, as the seventh grader just cracked the top 10. Keegan Butler earned that same finish in the two mile, running a team-best 13:52.23 out of the four participants in the event.

Reagan Dubay was the only top-10 field-event finisher for the Raiders on Sunday. The freshman threw 26-1.50 to take home eighth place in the shot put. Hampshire’s 4x200 relay team finished fifth (2:02.44)

Northampton 68, Longmeadow 27 — The Blue Devils only had one dual on Sunday, and they walked away with a comfortable win over the Lancers. Allie Sullivan had a lot to do with that, as the sophomore took home first in the 55m (7.74) and long jump (15-5.25) while finishing third in the high jump (4-10).

Camilla Brewer also had a big day for Northampton, grabbing second in the 55m hurdles (9.60), second in the long jump (15-5) behind only Sullivan, sixth in the 300m (46.43) and eighth in the 55m (7.93). Maddalena Figueroa-Starr (45.64) finished third in the 300m, Eleanor Lewis (9.77) took home fourth in the 55m hurdles and Tess Geis-Benton finished fifth in the two mile (12:39.71) and eighth in the 600m (1:53.96) to all snag big points in the win.

Other standout performances included Lewis’ 5-feet-even first-place high jump, Ella Hoogendyk’s first-place dash in the 600m (1:48.13), Maeve O’Neil cruising to first place in the 1,000m (3:22.46) with teammate Malia Silver (second place, 3:24.33) on her heels, and then Silver (mile, 5:42.43) and O’Neil (two mile, 1:45.69) both finishing second in the last two long-distance events of the day.

Northampton’s 4x200 relay team finished second (1:55.71).

Chicopee Comp 49, Amherst 25
East Longmeadow 86, Amherst 9 —
Despite the unfortunate outcomes of the Hurricanes’ two duals, there were a few strong individual performances. Brooklyn Court finished second in the long jump (14-0.75) and fifth in the 55m (8.14) – the only athlete with two top-five finishes for Amherst.

Claire Kennedy was just a few seconds behind first place in the two mile, as sophomore ran a 13:19.92 to grab second. Ella Jamate (2:10.74, 600m) and Sylvie Walker (4:24.56, 1,000m) each finished ninth in their respective events to help score the ‘Canes some points as well.

Boys results

Just as the Redhawks girls did, the boys team also swept its two duals on Sunday. Ben Cachiguango (8.75) took third in the 55m hurdles while Jack Storm (7.10) took eighth in the 55m.

Both Aidan Valderrama (sixth, 1:33.76) and Augustus Radner (10th, 1:38.91) cracked the top 10 in the 600m, and Charles Dennis grabbed fourth place with a strong time of 5:01.15 in the mile. Valderrama (5-06.00) then tied for eighth in the high jump with teammate Oliver Brown.

Storm added to his day in the long jump, jumping a seventh-best 17-9.50. The Frontier 4x200 relay team finished ninth (1:45.37).

Hampshire 66, Pope Francis 16
Frontier 48, Hampshire 47 —
The Raiders split their two duals on Sunday. Jaiden Kudelka’s lightning-quick 6.62-second performance earned him first place in the 55m somewhat comfortably. Tim Cahill’s time of 2:51.78 in the 1,000m was good enough for fourth place, and Aidan Conklin (1:34.38) took home seventh place in the 600m.

In the mile, both Jack Laliberte (fifth, 5:02.70) and Owen Cubi (sixth, 5:02.91) benefited from running side-by-side, and in the two mile, Hampshire athletes littered the top 10. Nick Brisson (10:24.84) took second place, Oscar Schiff (10:52.57) grabbed fourth and Zach Jones (11:22.10) slid into ninth.

Kudelka added on to his 55m win with a second-place long jump of 18-11, and senior Devin Lemay’s throw of 31-9 earned him 10th in the shot put. Hampshire’s 4x200 relay team finished eighth (1:45.11).

Longmeadow 71, Northampton 24 — Liam Ewers (1:29.33) and Davis Wheat (1:29.50) finished third and fourth in the 600m, as the two were neck-and-neck the whole way. Alex Sirois crossed the line fifth in the 1,000m with a time of 2:52.04 while teammate Pranav Belur (2:53.86) was close behind in seventh.

Theodore King-Pollet (4:50.96) paced three Northampton runners in the top 10 in the mile, as the senior finished in second place four seconds ahead of the next finisher. Owen Daggett (seventh, 5:04.65) and Ben Killip-Leonard (10th, 5:12.99) were the other two top-10 finishers. Gus Frey turned in a time of 10:58.72 in the two mile, good enough for fifth place.

In the field events, Juan Jose Adams Causton was the only top 10 finished for Northampton. His jump of 18-4 earned him fourth place in the long jump. The Blue Devils’ 4x200 relay team crossed the line third with a time of 1:41.25.

Chicopee Comp 75, Amherst 11
East Longmeadow 77, Amherst 8 —
It was a tough day for the short-handed ‘Canes boys as well. Amherst managed three top-10 finishers on Sunday.

Yoh Morita had the team’s best finish, taking home third in the 600m. Morita’s time was 1:40.86. The other two came in the mile, with Calvin Cusick (5:29.80) coming in fourth, and Elias Katsaros (5:35.52) taking home ninth.
