AMHERST — It looks as if the UMass men’s basketball team has rounded out its roster for the 2024-25 season.
On Wednesday morning, high schooler Amadou Doumbia of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, announced on his social media pages that he would be committing to UMass to play for Frank Martin and the Minutemen. He took to Twitter/X and said, “Vamos UMass” with a picture of him in a Minutemen jersey. Doumbia is a rising high school senior, but will reclassify up one year, making him eligible to join UMass for next season.

That completes the Minutemen’s roster of 13, with Doumbia – who had offers from fellow Atlantic 10 foes George Mason, Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure, among others – listed as the team’s second center.
Unless there are any de-commitments coming, Frank Martin has solidified what his year three roster will look like. Rahsool Diggins, Jaylen Curry, Marqui Worthy, Jayden Ndjigue, Tarique Foster and Daniel Hankins-Sanford are the six returners, which doubles the amount of scholarship returners from a year ago.
Nate Guerengomba, Daniel Rivera, Akil Watson, Lewis Walker, Malek Abdelgowad, Luka Damjanac and now Doumbia are the newcomers for the 2023-24 squad.
