SOUTHAMPTON — A memorial vigil will be held at the Angel Heart monument in Crossroads Park at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The monument was dedicated in 2014 as a memorial for parents who have lost a child. Forty names are now engraved on pavers in front of an angel resting on a granite heart monument from India.

Jacqueline Sears helped establish the monument with her friend Amy Laprade, whose 22-year-old daughter, Jacqueline Patnode, died in 2011. They have held four vigils at the monument in the years since.

Thursday’s vigil will feature a cappella group In Close Harmony.

Parents can purchase stones to be engraved at the base of the monument for $100 by calling Jacquie Sears at 413 529-0106, or emailing jacquiesears@gmail.com.

The Angel Heart monument is at the intersection of Helen Drive and Pomeroy Meadow Road Extension, off College Highway across from Paisano’s Pizza and Restaurant near Easthampton Savings bank.
