HADLEY — A Millers Falls woman is facing two counts of armed assault to murder for allegedly slamming her vehicle into another car with a woman and child inside in the driveway of a Hadley home on Feb. 2.

Christine DiPietro, 43, also is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious damage to a vehicle and destruction of property, according to the report of Hadley Detective Janelle Seitz. She was released on conditions following her not guilty plea on arraignment in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown.

Witnesses who heard the crash and went to investigate told police DiPietro said she had gone to the 133 East St. home with the intention of running over her mother-in-law “because she stole my kid.” DiPietro allegedly drove her white Mercedes at high speed and crashed into the victim’s Honda CRV, pushing it into the home’s garage. Police said the incident drew the attention of passing traffic, creating a disturbance.

DiPietro is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial hearing March 17.
