The Northampton Youth Football programs had their first home games of the season this past weekend, and the “Main Event” Senior Division team blanked Warren/West Brookfield in a dominant showing – a 40-0 win.

It was a rain-soaked evening for the three teams, with the PeeWee team falling in a close battle and the Junior team getting a touchdown from quarterback Ryan Hickson to propel them to a 7-0 victory, their first of the year. Kendrick Sanchez had 10 tackles to lead the stingy Junior team defense.

The Senior squad then took the field and jumped out a huge 26-0 lead at the halftime break. Two touchdowns apiece from the star running back duo of "Mop-Mop" Soum-Morrero and "B" Shakuru highlighted the first two quarters.

Rookie sensation Damion "Turtle" Campbell Jr. captivated the crowd in the second half, breaking five tackles on his way to a 65-yard touchdown sprint.

Team leader Brayden Rios got back to work as well, scoring a touchdown and working with fellow linebackers Nate Bonilla and James Toohey to stifle the Senior Cougars.

Next up for the Northampton teams is a road showdown with Ware on Sunday. Games start at noon.
