The Interstate 91 northbound Exit 21 on- and off-ramps in Northampton and Hatfield will be closed on Monday from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to road work, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The work is part of a $10.8 million resurfacing project taking place this summer on an 11-mile stretch of the interstate in Deerfield, Whately, Hatfield and Northampton. The project’s expected completion date is sometime this fall.

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes, the transportation department said in a statement.

The DOT is advising those seeking more information about traffic conditions to call 511, visit www.mass511.com, follow MassDOT on Twitter (@MassDOT) or download MassDOT’s GoTime mobile app or the real-time traffic navigation app Waze.
